Hello from Va.

Hello from the land of the Radar Detector Ban also known as Virginia. I live in Williamsburg, Va.
My Radar Detector is a Cobra XRS 9960.

Let me be the first to jump all over that... :)

Welcome to the club. Wow, how do you get away with running a Cobra in VA?
They emit so much RFI/EMI they can be detected a half mile away.

Two words... Escort Redline

Actually, poke around on the Escort section about stealth and the Redline. (I ran with a Cobra a few years ago, but was not aware of what a difference in ability the higher end detectors provide)

I don't know of a state called Virginia but I do know of a place called the Communist Republic of Virginia and Helligina.

Well I'll be the first to say Virginia is a piece of **** state, move away if you want to speed because you will get owned at some point in VA. Reckless driving in Hellginia is absurd, 20 over or anything over 80 a mandatory court appearance and a criminal offense, not to mention if you get caught over 90 you look at jail time.

Get rid of the Cobra, you need an undetectable detector in VA. What parts of Hellginia do you drive in, what interstates etc..

I too would highly recommend the Redline. Nary an issue with my daily 200 commuting miles.

I knew you guys would be all over the fact of me using a Cobra RD. The price was good and all I could afford. So far it has worked well for me. I don't use it much in Va., but use it in Tenn. and Ky.

Thanks for the welcome from everybody. I know that Cobras are not the best RD, but thats the best that I could afford. When possible I want to get a Beltronics STI.

Is anybody on here doing anything to repeal the Rd ban in Virginia?

I know the bill (HB 674) got voted down...We need to keep fighting for change...I ask that everybody fight to repeal this ban. Write letters to the governor, the delegates and state senators. There is a petition on-line for people to sign.

Let's band together and fight for change!!!!
