Hi there, name is Amanda. I know a bit about radar and laser detectors, but I could stand to learn more. Nice to meet you all. :)
Question: If I get a Blinder or a Laser Interceptor laser jammer, do I also need to get a detector separate? Or do the Blinder and the LI show what band I'm getting hit with?
Both the Blinder and the Laser Interceptor are laser only. They will do nothing for radar, so you need to run either in conjunction with a radar detector. The Laser Interceptor will alert you to what make and model of laser gun you're being hit with, while the Blinder alerts the same for all laser guns.Quote:

Thank you guys for the quick answer. I'll check out more of the resources. The LI would give me the most information. It's intergratable with the V1, right? But I could use any radar detector I wanted to. (I'll get a Cobra! :p)
I would suggest reading posts from the members for their input. Most would suggest you get either a Escort model or V1, given they are the premium and high quality detector brands.Quote:

I wouldn't bother integrating the LI with the V1. The LI works just fine as a stand alone unit.
I know women are extremely rare on this forum, but I have an idea on how to draw more women in, let me see....I'll get back with you all on that one I don't want to give my ideas away that quick.

Welcome to the forum and the V1 would go great with the LI.
The LI and the V1 do integrate for combining audio alerts through the LI. It sounds pretty cool. Although, integration is not really a significant concern for any jammer/RD combo. Would your coffee taste any better if your coffee maker integrated with your vacuum cleaner? Of course not. It's not really a factor.

I'd go with the V1 and LI

As others have stated you need a good rd.
Don't be afraid to spend good money on a good detector.
If you buy cheap (cough, cough, cobra, cough, cough, rmr) you will be spending way more in the long run.

Um, I see from the stickie that pulse rate is the laser signal that the jammer has to match to jam the gun's signal. So a good jammer has to recognize and match in an instant. I know that Blinder and LI are supposed to be the best laser jammers, but are the Escorts able to match the pulse rate well too?Quote:

Welcome ! V1 and Whistler are the fastest RD's in response to filtering radar in the industry.
Let's just say this, the Escort jammer isn't even in the same universe as the other two. If you're not in Canada, I wouldn't give a S^*† about the illegal stuff.Quote:
