Need advice

New guy here. First, thanks everyone for the wealth of knowledge. I purchased a V1 and M27's last week. Decided to go with the Blinders instead of LI, based on price. Figured the M27's would be "fine". However, the more and more I read and thought, I felt I made a mistake in getting the M27's. This is NOT a bash on Blinder, as I have never used their products, but it was a decision I made. Partly b/c my wife made a good point of what's an extra $200 after spending this much already? Yea, she kicks ass. :) So I ordered the LI Dual for my black '04 Accord. I want some rear protection as well, and was wondering..... Should I keep the M27's for the rear? Or should I send them back and purchase a single HP head for the rear? Will a single LI HP head perform better than 2 M27 heads? I'd prefer the LI HP head, since I'll already have a computer to hook it up to. Thanks in advance guys!

You will need to run TWO heads at once. One will do crap.

Yes, the LI's are much better than the M27's. I've had both, tested both.

Thats what I thought. Gonna send the 27's back, and will hold off on rear protection for now.

If you have the cash just go with LI Quad, if not dual for the front is VITAL for NJ!!

I already ordered the dual yesterday. Can I just order two sensors and put them in the back? Essentially it is a quad right? But its actually cheaper to buy it this way than the Quad package. Will this work? Just buying two standard 8.8 sensors?

Yea, if you have the dual now you can just get two more heads later on. Just be sure to program the CPU for four heads.

Yea, shes pretty cool. She knows I work my ass off tho and deserve my "toys". Now, as I'm explaining my dilemma with her, she says to me, "Its kind of stupid to spend all this money to be protected except in the ass." "Get the rear sensors if ya want babe." :) So yea, my question is, I can just order two extra 8.8 sensors and it will work with the Standard Dual I already ordered right?

So I have coming to me, Gen 8 Dual, and two standard 8.8 sensors for the back. I put a refusal to accept on the M27's, and notified radarbusters of the changes, so they will be re-routed back to the warehouse.

Question, are the dual sensors from the Gen 8 package 8.8 as well?

Salty, you made the right choice. You can always add two more heads for the rear later. Maybe your awesome wife will buy them for you. Can your wife teach classes to other wives on how to be an awesome wife.

I know.... Hope two LI heads will work... But have no idea where to place them.

Try green for an easy, less effective install and yellow for an ideal install under the lenses with the supplied rear sensor mounting brackets.

Thanks Cliff. What about the greens makes in an easier install? I'd rather have better protection. Also, do you have an ET on when my order will ship? Been eagerly awaiting the email notification that its been shipped. :)

Also, will opening and closing the trunk cause the heads to move?

The green requires no removal and reinstallation of the rear taillights to install the brackets that mounting in the yellow would require.

Ships tomorrow!

Properly installed, there should be little to no movement of the sensors but take caution to no longer SLAM the trunk closed and like your tire pressure, check you sensors regularly for proper level.

I have an 03 civic with a similar amount of tailight and my sensors are about where the yellow is in your pic. My recent testing has indicated that they are to low and should be slightly more inward. Now they do perform great where they are now, I'm just a perfectionist. If you can pull the blue off in the below pic I'd give that a shot.

Distance from sensor bubble to center of license plate =/< 18in
Distance from output diode to most outer edge of car =/< 14in
Higher mounting locations are better than lower

Get RRob to test your setup as soon as you are ready. Only way to know.

Installed two front heads with Radarrob today. Tested great. Had two punchthrough with one gun, cant remember which one it was. Both PT's were at 90 something and 70 something feet. Haven't permanently mounted the front ones yet, but they are good for now. Going to attempt to install the back ones in the blue like recommened. Wish me luck guys, I'm not used to doing these kind of things. Also, big thanks to Radarrob today. Your aresenal is SICK. Anyone up for a meet soon?
