New Member in Ohio

Hello All,

Just signed up as I have re-invested in a Radar / Laser detector. I had given it up for a while since I drive a hybrid, but found that I still like going fast and am tired of fighting the tickets in court.

So, before my perfect record (2 court appearances, 0 points) changes, it's time to keep up on what is going on in the world of speed detection once again...

Hi Snoop,

I have the V1. I had one for 3 years, and the original STi-R (975R I think it was called) for several years before that. Both are great units, but I can easily take the V1 with me when I travel and have to rent a car, so that's the one I went back to.

Welcome aboard. It doesn't matter what you drive, speed limits are such that you can get speeding tickets in any car.

So you have a V1, good choice. Start researching laser jammers next. No detector will save you from laser.

Thanks everyone! I currently drive a 2007 Camry Hybrid. I had a Prius prior to that though... :)

KP... I am actually considering the Blinder M27 or M47, but am still reading up on the Laser "solutions".

At some point I will get the signature updated...

Welcome, read up on K band muting if you haven't already........it will be your friend. Those speed sensors on the highways will drive you nuts without it.

No doubt! What the heck is up with that? When I am on 275 my V1 will go full scale in K and then slowly decay to nothing in about 1/10 of a mile in several different places.

I have been sans V1 for only 2 years (give or take) and the previous one did not do that... It's strange.

Welcome! Getting nailed doing 43 in a 30 speed zone is my most fear. A RD is a must.....
