Many UK residents feel, understandably, that paying $150 bucks a year to have a "license" to watch TV ?!?! is a little ridiculous and therefore never pay for one.
Which then led to towns who would warn the residents that the government had a van that they would drive through your neighborhood, which could "detect" whether or not you had a TV in your house. And if you were caught using a TV but were not up to date on your TV license, you would be fined thousands.
You may think I am joking, but I am dead serious, this is true.
What is a complete JOKE, however, unless one of you engineers want to convince me otherwise, is that
1) the UK has any clue whether or not you have a TV in operation and/or
2) that cops in Virginia can "detect" your detector
Are you kidding me?!?!??!??!?!?!
The whole reason RDs have prevailed in most states is because of our consitutional right to monitor the airwaves and the fact that an RD is basically nothing more than a radio RECEIVER.
So how do they "detect" it?
The V1 is not special. The only way to "detect" a radar detector is by spotting it stuck to the windshield with its cord dangling down.
C'mon people?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
