1) those that live in VA, do you use your RD a lot? If so, have you ever had problems police detecting you

1a. Yes, everytime I get behind the wheel of my vehicle.Quote:

2. Very carefully, so it can't be seen and it will still perform at 100%. :D
Im surprised you don't own a BEL STI StealthJamal?
Where can we find one at?Quote:

factory direct from Bel...but its a 10-14 day backorder wait. everyone else says coming soon.
If I lived in VA i'd buy one asap. But you know the local LEO better than anyone else.
Maybe MIKe V. will make a stealth V1 this year.
They not using the Spectra yet?Quote:

i suppose mounting it to where it rests on top of the rearview mirror is a good place and also the top of the dash in between the wiper blades as long as it has a clear view? for hiding it from direct view.
Can they site out of state drivers for that? I mean how are they suppose to know?Quote:

They won't cut your power cord if you are instate driver either. That is a myth.Quote:

Why are you guys so confident about that?Quote:

At night, it's easy to conceal, that's a no-brainer. During the day (I have a V1 and a SOLO S-2) I'm discreet and watch the mirrors and ditches and look for unmarked cars and pull it down if I need to.
I've heard rumors that I-81 LEO's have pulled people over after suspecting cars of having an RD. Maybe they are using VG2 on lonely stretches and picking off ancient hardware, who knows.
Just be careful and be observant and you'll be fine.
My.03.
Just noticed you have a BEL, don't worry about RDD's!
VA LEO's don't really need Spectre. For example, they could hide behind something and randomally tags cars with forward facing instant on after the car passes their location and look for brake lights.
I never hit the brakes if my detector goes full alert instantly. If it is instant on for speed measuring purposes, no need to brake they already got you. If it is to check for detectors you are done if you hit the brakes. I have experienced this type of "detector check" once in VA, so I'm sure the LEO's do this every once in awhile.
I was caught break-checking a long time ago in Virginia - on I-95 through Richmond. About 4:30am on a long road trip, dark out, very few cars on the road. Kinda half-asleep, in my old little world...
Out of nowhere I get a FULL blast of Ka, scared the shat out of me, and out of instinct I hit the brakes. Big no no. Turns out a Trooper was cruising behind me triggering moving instant on. As soon as he saw those brake lights, it was over. I got pulled over and got a $100 fine for using a detector, but no speeding ticket.
Lesson learned - DON'T hit the brakes in VA :)
Ya'll all had good points. Thanks. Just trying to figure out how to hide a corded RD. I guess I will need to hardwire it near the top of the windsheild.Quote:
