does anyone know how far a harley or other bike can be clocked with radar? i'd imagine not too far because if its small footprint.
i'm thinking this would be true becuase for example the corvette has a very small footprint and almost no front surface area. i'd imagine it would be very similar on a motorcycle as well
Certainly, bikes can be clocked with radar, but as you said the distance which the speed can be obtained... is much shorter then most cars since their frontal-area is much less then a cars...
Honestly the newest sportbikes are probably the hardest for radar to obtain a speed from, rather then a harley... because not only is the frontal area so tiny these days, they are also very very steeply angled (on all sides).
i remember something about how corvettes cant be clocked till aproximately 500 feet. im thinking its close to that for bikes too. maybe roy knows since he's a harley owner himself...

Well it still gives you an idea of the frontal area compared to the distance which the car was acquired, so no it wont say YOUR car, but it gives a reasonable idea of how size would effect distance which speed readings are obtainable. (Granted the newer radar guns actually can clock at a further distance then the old units... great leap forward in technology huh).Quote:
