So i have had my 9500ix since august or so. I have it hardwired and have never had any problems with it since about a month ago.
The problem that i am having is under heavy acceleration the Laser alert will sound. The only difference between before and now is more Horse Power. I added long tube headers and a completely different gear in the rear end. The overall difference in acceleration is huge.
I called Escort to get an idea if it can be fixed. The woman on the phone said that Escort has encountered this problem many times before... she said in fact hers does it when she backs out of the driveway. She said it is triggered by odd little things like the low hum given off by high HP cars, or the windshield wipers, or in her case the back up sensor. She said is it really a problem?
I said yea its kind of a problem being that the main time i would need it is under heavy acceleration. She asked me if i was sure and i assured her i was sure. She said the only way to really fix the problem is to lower its effectiveness by 50% or so...
I guess my real question is... is anyone having this problem as well? Does anyone have an idea for a fix? Only under heavier Gs does it go off. I walked threw the problem with REBinc already as he is on my forum as well and i cant seem to figure it out... i don't think my car is giving off a different hum than it was before... and people with the same application don't seem to be having the same problems!
Thanks in advance,
Brad
