Can a Cobra RD detect another Cobra?
So I know this is kinda a weird question but it really had me thinking today. I didn't see it asked anywhere else...there's probably a reason why. :o
I understand that some Cobras emit a borderline Ka-band signal that is picked up by some of the better radar detectors that everyone has. Can this same signal be picked up by other Cobra detectors that other people are using?
For instance, two guys are traveling on a highway, both equipped with Cobra detectors that emit radar signals. They are next to each other...does car 1's Cobra detector go off as a result of the emission of radar signals from car 2's Cobra, and vice versa?
Or is this signal only picked up by the "better" detectors and thus Cobra can't detect it?
Thanks . . . :o
Re: Can a Cobra RD detect another Cobra?
Absolutely, they pick up eachother. I've been at a lot of stop lights with past Cobras in the middle of nowhere, recieved Ka alerts, then looked at the cars around me, and seen cheap Cobras on the windshields. I've also had my 9960G and XRS9745 hooked up in my truck at the same time, and they both falsed Ka like crazy.
Re: Can a Cobra RD detect another Cobra?
I was going to make a new thread, but this relates directly to the Cobra Krap being emitted.
To get FCC licencing for your product, does it not have to conform to the "does not cause interference in other devices" clause?
Re: Can a Cobra RD detect another Cobra?
Cobras can't even detect their own failure
Re: Can a Cobra RD detect another Cobra?
^ kinda of a double negative w/Cobra RD's ;) LOL
Re: Can a Cobra RD detect another Cobra?
Heh, I kinda expected that response but it's pretty comical that no one at Cobra ever picked up on that.
Thanks guys.

Cobras can pick up each other.A good friend of mine has one and it picks up other cobras.
