Default Does it seem like as soon as you hit the gas...

... your RD starts to go off?

I don't know if it's Murphy's Law or what, but it seems like more often than not, when I have the rare opportunity to actually feel my turbo boost when I hit the gas, that's the moment that my detector starts alerting to a trap ahead.

Today I went to pick up lunch, and the route I take takes me down 1/4 mile of busy street, then I turn off onto a quieter street where it's tempting to let 'er rip. Well of course I do, and almost the moment my turbo started to do its thing (vroooom!) my V1 started to do its thing (brap brap). Off the gas (sorry turbo) and on the brakes, and soon I see a city cop running instant-on K band on the side of the road.

It seems to happen to me on the highway too. I'm stuck behind some pokey, and when I can finally get past them and put down the speed pedal, the next thing I hear is is a series of braps...

Does this happen to anyone else here? Or am I just "lucky?"

The srt guys are talking about noise in their electronics... caused from acceleration (the Alt. is kicking in [to max output] as the RPMS climb from idle), the turbo (itself) spooling up has nothing to do with the x50 alerting to laser.

kpatz is talking about that whenever he really wants to get on the throttle, you know on the far side of 55, there always seems to be an LEO in the area running radar which his X50/V1 pick up; which rain on his turbos parade.

That is what I understand kpatz to be talking about anyways.

    Why?

Well the roads that are nice to drive fast on, people drive fast on - so then that's where they look

AirMoore is right... this isn't electrical noise, unless electrical noise generated by my turbo causes LEO cruisers to materialize on the side of the road...

What's funny is it can be a road I drive on everyday. The one day I don't have traffic or whatever holding me up, or I just feel like stepping on it and pushing up to 50 in a 30 or 80 in a 55/65, that's when the LEO is there.

Murphy's Law... of course I'm driving an Audi now which just doesn't feel right unless it's going at least 10 over.

P.S. I need to update my "last 3 LEO encounters" in my sig... this is my 4th in <24 hours. Time to put a list on a website somewhere.

If you know anything about making a website - through a page together, I can host it for ya. That goes for all of you too. ..

Thanks Bauzer, I have a website already. Just no time to keep it up to date.

I'll probably throw up a list of LEO encounters and stick a link in my sig one of these days. Down the road I may drive it with PHP and MySQL so I can update it on the fly.
