The reason I choose the RX65 over the X50 was because I kinda thought that the X50 was a little outdated and Escort was soon to come out with something new.
The blue display, the expert meter and the tones . This is what made me choose the X50.
After emailing Radar Roy and getting his advice, I settled on and ordered today the Rx-65, from Roy of course. I had visited both the Bel and Escort web sites and read their information and pretty much decided on the x-65 and Roy told me that he uses the x-65 because of the style and voice and that there was no performance difference between the x-50 and the x-65. He also told me that Escort is talking about a dash mount for next summer. I wasnt interested in that. Thanks all to those of you who gave me your input. Much appeciated.
Great choice on the RX-65...you will love the Ka detection in the Canyon areas along southern Arizona.

I went with the rx65 over the passport. I am certainly happy with my choice. I like how compact it is. the x50 is over 5" long and kind of dangled off my windshield. Not for me. It think they both work well but the rx65 and its slightly better Ka detection pushed me in that direction. 2 months now and no problems to speak of.
With voice alert - say you have a 30 sec voice alert on some band- does voice alert just say for example "K band" once during that 30 second alert or does it repeat "K band" over and over and over during the entire alert. Also can voice alerts be turned off but still have visual alerts and tones come up just once per alert but without voice.
yes voice can be turned off and it sayd "K band" after like the second or third tone for the alert of whatever band it isQuote:
