Default will s.p.l. from a car subwoofer damage a r.d.

I run 2 15 inch subwoofers in my truck....I compete in sound pressure level contests for fun.....(hit a 147.5 on average)
My stereo system in my car is greatly loud.

While playing a song real loud,my car voltage will drop tremendously.

The 795's lights will go full fledged while the bass hits real hard. __I then turn the unit off till im done with the song__

Can this damage my r.d. in any way knock it out of tune...
I cant tell any difference while not playing if this is damaging the unit in any way...seems to work fine...

    My question is i want to purchse a 400$ r.d. ...
Should I be worried about the conditions in my car to damage the unit...Has anyone done this before or should i not worry...

    Thanks

High SPLs will kill your ears LONG before it'll damage an RD.

RDs can be replaced. Your hearing can't. Think about it...

But if you're seeing a voltage drop when you crank your system, you might want to get one of those big capacitors that hold a charge and take the load off the battery.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

I was also wondering if my 2 kicker l5's hit, it makes my windshield vibrate, as you can see greatly in the mirror. Can the vibration damage the internals of my x50?

lol I wouldn't want to be in your car. I mean I have my rd set to the quietest setting already. I like my music soft and nice, my rd not to scare the **** out of me, and good sound quality.

Well DOUG as a fellow car audio enthusiast, just went outside and changed my x50 to V mode. Im running 2 twelve's no capacitor 2 channel amp. (Set up so good no dimming lights) When I turn the key to acessory im at...13.7-13.9, running my system it still stays between those two. Actually turning the car on and driving its at 13.9-14-0. Still turning the subs up stay's between those two even when heavy bass drops...One thing I found is that actually rolling your windows up or down (power windows) makes the volts drop more than the speakers. Even turning your ac on changes it more than when my system is on.

This could vary with your trucks eletrical system, but it should still be able to run just fine with your system.

Actually you don't want to do that, contary to popular belief this simply compounds the problem... its marketing jargon to sell that stuff to people.

External-Inline-Capacitors were brought into the car audio world for 1 reason... competitions, where the car has to be OFF... no current from the alternator and normally you play only a single note or 2 over a very very short period ( a 2-3second burp as it is)... so the capacitor acts like another battery, where you need it for that short burst, it is a quick-draining power station for holding reserves of power.

His voltage drop will not be solved by a capacitor, it will actually make the situation worse, and ruin his alterntor quicker... what he needs is a better alternator... and probably to turn down his music when he is in the car.

As kpatz said though, your hearing will go before your E795 will... unless it keeps falling of the windshield and hitting stuff on the way down.

x2, I still have (some of) mine though, because I simply like the SQ, that a well-rounded system brings, and sometimes a bit of SQL... also if I sold it I would be out a ton of money for equipment used very sparingly.

Doug I would recommened two things:

    A) Upgrading your big 3, and getting an H.O. Alt
    B) Keeping the music down.
