I would need a lot of extra money.
for that price it will have to be extremely good perofmrnace wise
My only requirement for buying a detection device over 500 dollars is that it not only detects what form of speed detection thier using, but gives me thier badge number, what department they are, years of service, and favorite tv show.
but seriously, after the 300+ mark, it starts to get crazy in my opinion. unless you are a professional driver, I dont see the need. For someone who minds the speed limit most of the time, It seems like too much. Besides, most people who have radar detectors have really poor ones, or don know how to use them. It probably doesnt take more than 200-250 and some good research to have a better deector than 90% of everyone on the road. I once got a lecture from a police officer who got me with instant on about how much they dont work and that i might as well put mine on ebay. i almost wanted to wave to him next time i saw him running radar and my detector was blaring.
I'm happy with my RD.
If I were to spend that kind of money it would be a downpayment on the car I want (want very badly).
I would trade in my 626 and get a 2nd gen Eclipse/Talon turbo AWD. Mmmmm.
