Also if you don't want to spend quite that much.
Try the Whistler Pro 78 or XTR-690 both preform very well and won't break the bank. :D

X3! Either of the mentioned Whistlers are the "best bang for the buck" in my book. :)Quote:

If and when Bell makes a concealed STi model I will convert my high end unit to that one.

And Erick, this sucks man.
Commercial trucks and buses can't use radar detectors anywhere, it's prohibited nationally per DOT regulations.Quote:

HarleyJane, I don't know what Cobra you have, but if you have a newer one where you can disable VG-2, Spectre, and POP, do so and you'll have a decent detector that's pretty quiet (to itself, at least).
No, it's not going to get 4 mile hits around curves, but at the very least it'll give you a small bit of warning if you're not some waay over the limit speeder. If you decide to move up to a newer, nicer detector, Whistler has a couple of good models in the low-mid $100 range depending on where you buy them (XTR-690 and Pro78) as does Bel (940 and even the 955 in some stores).
i get that all the time, i have a cobra to play around with in the city and vg2 and pop go off all the time because of other cobras. It's funny how cobras false on each other driving down the road cause I imagine we both are falsing on each others haha. Cobras can be a hit and miss, it really depends that's the problem it's not a good all round detector it's horrible compared to the other companies. If you have the big bucks go get a valentine 1 they're the best. Other wise you can stick to the cobra or move up to the bels or whistlers
Can you not disable it on yours?
Actually, there are alot of Spectres in TX. In fact, TX may have the largest concentration of Spectres in the US. The Texas DPS use them to catch detectors in large trucks.Quote:
