4 tiny antennas mounted in the top left/right of the front/rear windows. Connected via Bluetooth to your detector's CPU under the dash with the 4" touchscreen LCD output on your dash. Gives directional information on the next level up from the V1.

or the open-API idea...that would be very, very cool.

I've got 3 cars with 3 different units, Whister 1793SE, Whister XTR-690 REV C, and a V1 3.863. All three units detect existing threats in my area perfectly fine and I could not ask for more. Heck the V1 was just for fun, the XTR-690 was already perfect sensitivity in my mind.

damn that would be nice. that is one thing i do like about my Garmin; i can update the software easily by hooking it up to my computer. why is it that these RD companies dont do this already? is there no cost benefit in it for them?

so in that instance, a RD would be able to detect a cop based on their GPS uplink to the police tracking system? if so, that'd be damn neat.

O.K., good. For a moment I thought you were unprotected and you just knew a ton about radar. As my dad always said, "Son, make sure you always use protection." This is why I never leave home without the V1.

Probably about half of the members of this board think just like this. They like to hear their RD go off. I get this. The other half of us only want to hear it when there is a threat. I'm personally in this category. I personally get tired of muting my SRX. My girlfriend hates hearing "that stupid thing" however. I'd bet at least 95% of our lady passengers fit into this category. The 9500i will give you the spinning satellite when it is detecting a locked out signal, letting you know that it is still detecting even while remaining silent.

Well I have to say, we are close to a revolution.

TomTom has a feature called "Buddy" where is can locate other "Buddies" if there GPS unit is on and it can share location data... Now all someone needs to do is compile an interface which takes a RD alert, perhaps even have the user validate it and broadcast it to other TomTom Buddy users.

You can apply filters/rules to control the alerts, perhaps a quick catagory as moving in such a direction or stationary, etc etc etc.

I am suprise TomTom does not take there Buddy system and run with this possibility. They already have cammera alerts, this would be right up their alley.

Imagine a GPS screen filled with live speed trap locations, NOW thats a POI that I am interested in.
