V1 over the RX-65 for sure. I sold my V1 to buy an RX-65 because of the hype when it first came out and was sorely disappointed in its performance. Most of the test results from GOL and elsewhere mirror my experience. While adequate, it was inconsistent with its performance on Ka band.
Is there ANY better jazzy? :?:Quote:

I did research about which radar detector to buy for about a week. And ended up having X50 vs RX65 vs V1
Here's the thread http://www.radardetector.net/viewtopic.php?t=33360 then I found this website
http://guysoflidar.com which clearly shows that V1 is superior to all the other RD out there in $400 under price range. Then I read the manual from V1 website and found a couple more reviews but here's what I found interesting.
Review websites that have online shop attached to them do not recommend V1 and say that STi, X50 or what ever they sell is better, probably because you can buy V1 only from one place and that place is V1 website.
They make stupid comments like
1) Its style is very old "its time to catch up"
2) There is no functions.
3) The Ka band is bad
And here's what I say back to them:
1) The style is the same mostly because of upgradability, they can't make a different case because then they will have difficulties upgrading old units.
2) Just because manual doesn't tell you there is no functions doesn't mean you can't change options, It seems that V1 went for the here is a manual for a regular folk so he can't accidently turn off Ka band. But if you do 1 min of research you'll find out about the programming menu that has lots of options.
3) Um, so what kind of tests did the online shop do + I don't see any graphs or anything to prove your argument. Lidar guys show it how it is and V1 wins most of the time.
So just make it easy on yourself and get V1, I just ordered mine this morning and I can't wait til it arrives tomorrow "before 3PM" :)
Well it takes me like 3 hours to get to Orlando and 3.5 to Tampa. :lol:Quote:

One more question guys.
When and WHY are priced on RD's going to go up?
PM radar roy for details but ESCORT is changing their prices starting this friday. February 1st 2008. As of now Beltronics even though part of escort is not raising their prices. SOmething about gas prices and rising cost of owning a car which means there is less cars/ people willing to drop $450 for a RD so by increasing the cost although fewer potential buyers, those ones like you and I will still fork over the extra $50. So they believe. I could be wrong on this last idea but thats what i interpreted.Quote:
