What do you guys prefer? Less or maximum sensitivity?

Have they determined a MRSP? I've heard its going to be a great radar detector, but will come with a $1200.00 price tag as well, is this true?

Escort already has the 9500ci listed and priced on their web site, its more than $1200, more like almost $1600. It does include the new ZR4 shifter system as well as the remote detector, but for me thats still a little too pricey. The 9500i is priced 1/4 of that, I think Escort got a little too proud of the thing when pricing it.

It should do everything for you except what your wife can do for you while you are driving. :D

Seriously though, the 9500ci's performance should be outstanding. Aside from borrowing the STi's antenna, the STi-R's remote display, and the GPS module from the 9500i, all the rest of its electronics are totally redesigned and/or are completely brand new.

I have been told that the price of $1599 is only for pre orders (a special). It will go to $1999 soon. I guess if you want to play you have to pay but I still can not believe that they are going to cost that much! They should give the user the option to buy it standalone (minus the ZR4) so this way it will be $500 cheaper. If what I hear is true the ZR4 will makes us all change the way we think about LED jammers.

I would definitely consider this detector if I could eliminate the shifters from the purchase price.

I was told that you cannot use 9500ci without ZR-4,because it will give you constant "shifters disconnected" or something like that alert,every couple of seconds.

BTW,I am not 100% sure,if that's true.

I vote maximum sensitivity, for a few reasons....

I want to know the location of radar sources, and I will determine the appropriate response to them

a more sensitive detector can always be customized to be *less* sensitive or chatty, if neccecary, but a less sensitive detector cannot be made more sensitive or chatty, give me maximum sensitivity and the ability to customize the alert behaviors to driving conditions
