That website ia awesome. It may have taook them longer the speed measurements labs but the result were easier to understand. Also if im not wrong they gave more info.

No summary?
As I read the summary for each category something strange is appearing. Praise the x50 every opportunity and mention nothing good about the V1. "the x50 was astounding" because it had a great signal strength. That tels me nothing. All the top detectors went off at 9 miles. The V1 destroyed the field in the laser detection and the only thing said was in ten tries the V1 did not detect laser aimed at the vehicle in front of it. I used to think this was a fair test and unbiased report, but the more I read the less respect for speedzones website I have. This is a letdown to those of us that were looking forward to getting some great information to make a buying decision on a radar detector.
According to Roy, Motor Trend declared the V1 the winner from this test, which really confuses the situation.
I agree with Glockman.
They could have also praised the V1 on it's RDD performance, where it was the best, but didn't. Same for the Laser detection results.
Lack of K band results is too bad. Despite mostly Ka band being sold, there's enough K in use to make it important, and it's omission an issue.
Regrading Immediacy of response, if a V1 equipped car going 75 MPH goes 40-50 feet closer to the radar during the .4 of a second between when a Bel 995 alerted, and it does, does it really make a difference? If you are the targeted car, I think both get the ticket regardless of detector. If you are behind the targeted car, I think the difference isn't enough to keep you from slowing down. I don't place much value on these results, except to look at the RS3000 as a really slow responder where it might make a difference.
The over the hill test makes a connection between displayed signal strength, and how well the detector works. It also praises a detector for showing the signal strength of multiple bogeys. No praise for a detector that shows the direction of signals, and identifies the one that poses the most threat?
Proximity of response tries to say that the closer to the source, the more the alert should display. I always thought it was based on signal strength. Instead of a flat straight road, some curves or hills would make this a better test.
POP tests used a formula to translate alerts into a Y or N, but in the laser tests a percentage was used. For instance a RD could detect POP once, and still get a N. In the laser test, a similar result would have been reported as 33% Why the different way of showing results???
The long range test praises a detector that gives a high signal meter reading? Was the option in the V1 to enhance Ka reporting used?
The more you know about this stuff, the more questions I think you have to ask. On the other hand, if you don't know a lot and you read this in the process of buying a good RD, you'll probably get one of the Belscorts and be happy.
