Noob to RD,just got Escort passport 8500 x50

Could any of you reccomend any settings that would increase the performance of this rd?

I have to drive through Virginia next week.

use highway mode(most sensitivity), it is a good detector so you should be fine. gl and safe trip

Thanks m8. Do you have any advice as to where to place the RD going through VA? Is it easy for Leo's to spot these x50's when placed high on the windshield, even using dim mode.or during daytime?

if your going threw Virginia the x50 is going to be detected by the spectre iii. but i guess your best bet obviously would be mount it high behind a tint strip.

this will limit the appearance of the radar detector but you risk a hefty fine if caught

Well you'll have to find a stealth spot usually up high works out pretty good (by/above the rear view mirror) but honestly I'd be more worried with spectre sniffing you out. Good luck though on your trip!

lmao..dont use it in VA!!!! u can stealth the install all u want but a leo can pick u up on his spectre and u will get a ticket for using it..for stealth Bel STi...but in all other states besides VA and DC turn pop off if its not already off

Not hijacking, but when VA gives you a ticket do they just take the SN of the RD or confiscate it?

Well you could get a $100 ticket for possession of a RD or a $1000 ticket for 21 over the psl.
