Hi Phil... with all do respect, but thinking that Uncle Sam/Big Brother is interested in tracking, tracing, tapping EVERBODY using a cell phone with GPS capability is just ABSURD!!!!!!!!!! There is no motiv for doing that plus involves a huge manpower force... yes, if Mr. "Mohammed Al-Zarkawi" has a pation of preaching hatred towards America, Western World, calling for a worldwide jihad, well... that's different and I bet Homeland Sec wouldn't waste one minute to use the GPS feature to keep a close eye on that particular guy or guys, for the sake of the rest of the country... anybody against this practice??? I don't think so unless somebody is a real fanatic of ACLU...

Yeah well I was on a cellphone in New York City and said "jihad jihad jihad" three times fast and this white van roared up to where I was, and next thing you know I wake up in a dark alley in the Bronx! :shock: Took me three hours to find my car!

Of course you have to be blacklisted first. If you are a target, don't use a cell phone. :?

I wish this was not reality, but like I said...I work in this biz and the capability exists. They used to have to ask for our assistance, now they don't need to. And it doesn't need to be a GPS phone either.

Gee...with a microphone and a camera on it, imagine what could be done. :idea:

OMG such unwaivering faith in our beloved government! Its so sweet to see it brought a teat to my eye.

I've got news for you... any large overly powerfull government in the world has the same dynamics and forces at work. If you think that here in the US we are immune to government idiocy and invasions of privacy then you really really need to open your eyes my friend.

Let me give you a concrete examaple: The no fly list... a list by which the government is monitoring who gets to get onto airlines.... They would not target anybody but hardened terrorists you say?

Read the above.... It talks about toddlers who have been placed on the no fly list!!! Yes! Our idiot government is tracking friggin' Toddlers.

So I agree with you that they are not tracking Everybody.... and of course we all know that GPS is recieve only.... but there is definitely reason to worry. When our govenment has carte-blance to track everyone and put them on various "lists" limiting their movement... innocent people WILL be hurt.

Homeland Security is the biggest joke and waste of money in the history of the world.
