No Happya$$ knows who you are, it was funny because I was next to Jim recording the distances and listening to Happya$$ trying to read the writing on the cones. Hehehe, he couldnt make out Jim's writing.Quote:

I also like when we blocked the radar unit while he was testing out the DSP. He comes back this thing is a piece of ****. Then we told him we had it covered up.

Hey Jim,
Were the 33.8 Ka tests done with POP on or off?
Detectors were at default settings in most unfiltered mode unless otherwise noted. So, POP on on the V1s, and POP Off on the Belscorts.
I was was wondering if that would have made a difference. Isn't your theory that with POP on, the detector has to spend more time in the 33.8 frequency than with POP off?Quote:

But for the good. Yeah, I finally heard enough from everyone to send it in. So it is on it's way 2 day air. So, I should have it back some time next week.
Oh, the humanity. :(
you should have it back soon though. :)

I have a test I'd like to do but don't have access to radar guns so I thought I'd post my request on a GOL thread...
Rolling hills, or just hills... maybe like 100' high, radar gun facing away on the back side, or maybe 100' past the bottom facing towards the driver.
Have any tests like this been done?
Our test in July 2005 was close...
But I can pretty much guarantee you that our nest test will be similar to what you describe.
I can't wait. Thanks!

I can't explain it but the road looks different with a RD.
:D
I wish I had read this before I bought my X50, a couple questions that come up in my mind though: 1. was the LEO visible when a given detector went off? 2. was a speed reeding aquired if the LEO was visible before the detector went off? Numbers dont lie, and more distance is always better, but in defence of the x50, if it saves you from the ticket, it saves you from the ticket even if it went off long after the V1. Keep up the good work
To address your questions:Quote:

So, the test was set up in such a manner to try to determine which detector was the most sensitive, not to address whether a person "has enough time to slow down". A sensitive detector is important because a lot of times police are sneaky, and use "instant-on" where they only target certain vehicles which appear to be speeding. In this case, the detector must be sensitive enough to detect the radar being used against traffic ahead, otherwise you won't get a warning until you're being targeted yourself, and by then it is too late: he's already got you.
Don't be too down on the X50, it is a great detector...
