GOL RADAR SHOOTOUT TEST 1/28/06

Praise the lOOOOOOOOOORd Hallleluhiah brothers and sisters....
Post them already!!!!

We should get a test set up in Mass one day.
there was a wolf pack 2 exits north of me last week on 495. Funny stuff when you use the "never lead the pack" driving habit. (not saying it is 100 percent effective) Duck and run has served me well as a good habit though. there is always someone who needs to go 5-10 mph faster than the tornado red audi....

So, back to my original question - if laptop was onsite....why not have a table ready to fill in and comment in progress with raw data, and feed us some detail asap.... I know the BIG REVIEW paragraphs are good, but we were all waiting like it was a trip to the moon! ;-)

Where will the results be posted? On this tread or another?
Special thanks to the whole team who continuesly provide testing results for the emerging technology. :D :D :D

The effort you put into these thing is astronomical. Many of us have no clue of how much stuff is involed in each of yalls testing. Months of planning. Truely amazing!!!!!!!!!

I can tell you that we tested for about 8 straight hours. Again we learned new tricks that will make us more efficient for our next testing

As soon as Roy called his bluff he became "quieta$$" :lol:

Well RacerX, Outrun (who is now driving my rig) and I are heading home..

Other then the rain today, and the snow on our departure in AZ, the trip was great!!!

Hats off to the GoL for another great test!!!

Should be back at home Tuesday morning...

Now I need to keep an eye out on Outrun, to make sure he doen't find some poor X band Trooper on the road...

Wow can can I say we had a GREAT turnout and I have a lot of people to thank. First I would like ot thank all of the forum members who sent their units to be tested. This is a GREAT way to know that we have RETAIL units. I would like to thank Roy for driving a million miles to come to Ohio, buy the food for the cookout, lend us his equipment, and completely staying out of our away and not interfering with our testing. Once again Roy is TRULLY a GENUINE AWESOME guy. It is great to have a great friend in Roy! I would like ot thank our team and participants for contributing anyhting they could to make this a great experience. It is SO NEAT to meet people from the forum. I would like to thank the Sheffield Village PD. This department was EXTREMELY professional, friendly, and even participated! I was in awe that they were that professional after all of the things that I have read! They were AWESOME and I look forward to seeing htem in April! The best part of all this guy is that we found AN AWESOME new LIDAR test site that is about 2500' long. No traffic, beautifull area! A LOT of hard work went into this and we learned a lot once again. The April event should be KICK A$$.

So what's the ETA for posting the results?? Inquiring minds want to know

Your telling me I am about to find a bum... sit him at the local 'internet Cafe' pay him 5bucks a day to just sit there and watch for the results, and have him call me when they are posted (just incase I am in college I can run out of class to see the results).

We are shooting for 8:00pm Eastern Time. I finished up the graphs last night and Jimbonzz is doing his thing

I really am interested in the STi results, especially after Roy said it beat the V1 to a Ka band alert.

My college had computers all over the place, you couldn't walk 3 feet without stubbing your toe on a PC. Don't you have the internet on your phone?

Guys please keep in mind that we are still amatuers. There are still professionals out there that do these tests for a living. We just do it for the love

Can you tell us a little about the test site conditions? (distance, curve, hill etc.)

Just these bands to test THOROUGHLY took 8 hours. We could have done a half a$$ job but that is not what we are all about

Well It's great to see the V1 is on top with X,K, cleaned up on KU and 34.7GHZ Ku! Great job GOL. Many thanks for your time and dedication! The STI and RX 65 did great too! :D

I think the results are quite telling, especially Ka wide/narrow, plus seeing the difference between guns, but then again no surprise given the sweep of the oscilator, the middle 34.7 will be the longest rang, thank goodness my FHP troops use that alot.

I was hoping to see a old 985, but oh well. The rx65 looks to hold its own, I might be seriously upgrading to that and AL6. :D

LOL, well there was only one day but yeah that is the radar stuff. Believe it or not it was not until the way home that I found out my v-1 was even being used lol. I didn't know any of the results until now. I like the graph.

Now that I know that my V-1 was tested I am disapointed in the results. Oh well it still works I guess.

I worked in Jersey for 3 years and that is exactally how the JNSP use their radar and now PA has been doing the same latley. This methos is quite effective for the LEO's advantage and is quite a challange for us.
On the way home from GOL I hit 2 PA K band stationary staps set up just like that.
I also had hit two moving traps in Ohio.
