I just assumed the "Elite" would be, well, Elite lol. It didn't seem that it was any better. In fact, on average, it seemed like it faired slightly worse.

OP if M3's where detectable I'd have no M3's buy now. The police would have confiscated them. I live in the same place Spectres' are made and if anyone was going to have the latest and greatest Spectres' it would be the Queensland Police force. The police I have spoken to tell me they are a waste of time and money.

If M3s were detectable, it would be everywhere as people would be complaining about it on every online outlet. I guess the Elite isn't very elite after all...mind you, look at the Spectre...it looks about as advanced as the ORIGINAL Escort model.

Bingo
Well you accomplished that goal well. It feels like one of the best built electronics on the market. I also imagine it would make a pretty good weapon as the Redline carries some weight...no pun intended!

It's curious that in the original post here STI-Boy did not return to answer questions about his experience. We also had a guy come on here and say similar things about the Redline. These stories tend to play on people's imaginations until someone finally gets the latest Spectre and puts it next to an STi and proves once again that it is undetectable.
The last time these rumors were spread it was about Spectre IV. They were untrue as witnessed in a posted video. The current stories are false also, and time will bore that out. I have driven past a lot of Spectres in the most RD hostile area of North America and I have never been pulled over. The STi cannot be detected because it does not emit a signal. The internal components, the magnesium case (not just the case, but the design of the magnesium case) cancel out emmissions. Since there is no emission, there can be no detection.
The makers of Spectre can advertise that their product detects all detectors truthfully. Why? Because if you put a Spectre close enough to an Sti (like 6 inches) it will detect small emissions. Does it work in real life? No.
The truth will come out eventually.

radar detect det
Shows the STi Driver, Redline, 9500ix, even the Solo S3 and Pro78SE being undetectable by the Spectre Elite. Too hard to believe, other than the RL and Driver.
