Wow so what do you think of this? I think it's a pretty darn good deal on a 12 month plan. Have been using the X50 for a few years with no complaints but considering using this to upgrade. Initial payment but then virtually no interest - not a bad deal...I bet they get a lot of business out of this.

lol ..not really, what it does is it keeps cash flow up and you can still get what u want without crying poor.

It's 0 percent interest, you pay the same amount whether it's cash or the payment plan. If one were to be ordering a new detector from Escort, it would be WISE to take advantage of the payment plan, as you can have that money working FOR you during that year.

People who live pay check to pay check never listen and never get it in life. I've got to have it (now). I can afford it (now) by making payments (payments keep one poor). But no cash, no 6 month emergency savings, no retirement up to par for they did not listen to Dave Ramsey. Speeding equipment is not wise for it is not an investment, it does not make one money.....

Who said anything about someone living paycheck to paycheck? This has nothing to do with Dave Ramsey. If a person is going to purchase an Escort from Escort anyhow, nobody gives a crap what you think about the soundness of that purchase and really it's none of your business, then it is WISE for them to purchase with the payment plan that doesn't change the price of the product in the end. The person would have that money working for them the entire year, rather than simply paying up front.

Payment plans don't automatically mean poor choice. Only those who don't understand economics would say such a thing.

Well the way I see it, they aren't pulling anyone in who can't afford it. If they were charging some high interest rate or something that would be the case but they are not. It's a simple payment plan like layaway of years ago.

I think they are pulling in a whole new large group of buyers that they would not have had before. The down payment is roughly about $150 per the website, which is about what a new person entering into the RD market starts with paying. So by doing this program you get started right away with a nice detector of your choosing and you don't lose any money by doing it.

For them to NOT charge some ridiculous interest rate really raises them up in my book.

Pretty smart marketing if you ask me..
