Default Removing the plastic container of a detector ?

    Hello everyone,
I'm french (sorry for my english ) and I really enjoy this forum for the quantity and the quality of information we can find here.

I have a really old RD (Snooper 815) but you should know that RDs are forbidden in France so I have to hide it.

I would like to install it in a regular package but I would need to remove the plastic container (keeping only the internal part). Does that change anything for the detection efficiency ?

    Thanks
    Bye

I think it would work OK, as long as you are careful.

But, I also advise you to look into the consequences of using a radar detector in France. I have heard stories that they might impound your car if caught using a detector, but I don't know if they are true. It might not be worth the risk...

As Jim said above, be very careful about using a Radar Detector in areas where they are illegal, the consequences could be very very bad.

I would check into that before you use one.

Also I am not sure how effective that old snooper would be against any new equipment the Law enforcement has in France... might also want to check into that.

Welcome to the board (and your english is very good).

Apparently this is only for a remote install.

Yes this is only for remote installations
For classic RDs, they only impound the RD and give you a high fine (but I know the consequences and using a RD can be profitable if it is used carefully  )

I also know that the snooper is old and not very effective but it saved me a couple of times but I am a little lucky as well (especially with laser because Snooper cannot detect lasers). I aim to buy a new one in few monthes...

Thanks for your welcome and your answers
