The reason the "others" have caught up to the V1 is primarily due to the fact that a lot of the first patents that MV owned have expired and are now being used by the other mfrs.
Some time has passed and i decided to give the new Max 360 a go. My V1 is still driving me up the wall, and i need one for my daily driver because i got popped a few days ago which led to my pre order of the Max 360. I really hope this detector is closer to a redline with arrows/GPS considering the $650 price tag and dual antennas/horns just like the Redline/V1. I will be comparing my updated V1 against it, and post up another video in a couple weeks.

It will. What makes you think Escort finally got it right after two releases of a buggy Max and Max2? If anything we can expect a bigger mess. They have zero experience with dual horn/antenna detectors. Their filtering scheme is a running joke and after all the outrageous claims Escort makes about the Max/Max2 being the distance leader it barely keeps up with an unswept V1. The Redline will remain Escort's king at distance, but it's also the king of falsing. The V1 may not be purdy, but it's smaller, lighter footprint has a lot going for it vs. the shoebox sized Max 360. And its arrows work. Set up correctly it will give you long range and a quiet ride. And it looks just fine sitting on the dash of my 60K car.

Don't forget the M3 is a duel antenna and its used in a few RD's Escort makes. They also happen to be some of their best.

But they don't have experience with a two antenna set where one points forward and the other looks back such that they have to play nice together and sort out the direction of the radar. Escort's use of two antennas is simply to divide up the work among the radar frequencies with both antennas looking forward.
Honestly, has Escort made a great detector since original Passport? If you're honest you'll answer no. They've had some good ideas but the implementation of those ideas have always fallen short. Your M3 Redline is probably what you're going to point to as a great product, but as much range as it gives, it overwhelms the senses with falsing. And Escort's TSR is just heavy filtering on the K band that puts the driver in danger of getting a ticket from I/O. Sadly, Escort has been a complete fail since Mike Valentine left. I have bought some of their big name products since then (including the Max) and every one has been a complete dud and total waste of money.
The two antennas on the m3 have to play nice together, but I understand your point.
Lots of great RD's after the Passport. The 8500, 8500X50 (s7's) Bel RX65 with USA mode and the very well known RedLine and 9500ci. You can claim falsing is a problem but that's very dependent on where you drive and how you program the product. Mike V was just dead weight for Escort.
And don't get me wrong I love my V1, but only because it has the YaV1 app.

I have not tried a V1 in a car but on a motorcycle the falseing is driving me crazy. The only way to mute a hardwired V1 is to turn it off as the mute button will not work through a helmet. This week I hope to get a MAX 360 that will go in my Lexus and the MAX 2 will go in the bike. The V1 will be moved to my friends VW Eos. I hope that the V1 does a better job in that vehicle then on the bike. I have no problem with its range.
