When is it worth it to upgrade software for my V1?

Is it worth it to upgrade my current software (3.872) to the current software version? They said it will be 99$ to upgrade and another 49$ to get the Bluetooth connection device...

Depends on what you want.
The newest version with the addition of the BT module allows you to further the customization of the V1, namely specifying what frequencies (or frequency range) you want to scan. You can also lock out or mute junk alerts like doors and what not a little easier. Just depends on what you want. The .872 is a good unit.

I'm going to be upgrading my .813 and .864 soon.

I made the switch from .855 to .894 plus the dongle plus YaV1app on android only makes a huge difference. For under $150 is well worth it.
