it has a flASH chip anway i think escort will stick to the x50 for a very long time i mean LLOOONG TIME NO NEW MODEL ONLY STEALTH WILL BE ADDDED IN THE FUTURE TO THE NEW X50 :wink:

The 8500 is a great example of the scary product support.
8500 along with Bel's line up of detectors was advertised to be upgradable. Then POP came out, yet Escort and Bel (same company) state that POP is not a real threat so no upgrades are available. :?
But if ya want they will give you $20 or $30 bucks credit for a trade up to the new X50 or rx65. Hows that for upgradability.
It really is a depressing and sore subject. They make great RD but there customer support SUCKS! Hate thinking sending profit there way.

escort might have been first, but with POp mode enabled the x50 and rx65s false like crazy..which is why v1 took so long..to make POp mode something you can live with enabled. Plus V1 has better pop range and detection rate.
then i guess escort does not have a real upgrade then if this is the case :( :D

Very informative page about the problems with POP, and it's potential abuse.
But for some reason, a lot of people who read that page misunderstood it to believe that Valentine wouldn't be adding POP to the V1. I don't see that anywhere on the page. In reality, Valentine Research was developing POP the whole time.
