Driving I10 From Florida to Dallas Next Week

Just got a Bell RX-65. Been driving around with it in my car for a week or so. Pretty neat so far. Will be driving to Dallas next week from Tallahassee, FL. Interstate most of the way. Here in Florida you are usually OK at 78 on the interstate. I usually travel that speed anyway except when passing or if traffic is much faster, then I keep up. Questions are ... Does anyone know if I should expect x-band anywhere on that route? IS it safe to run 78 in MS, AL, La and TX for the most part on I-10? (Assuming the speed limit is 70) Little concerned as I would imagine some of the communities along the Gulf Coast are looking for revenue so I am a little worried about speed traps along that route. Any advise would be appreciated. Oh, My settings are all default except POP is on and KA=USA. Highway
I dont mind the false hits on X if ther is any chance of seeing it on this trip. Like I said, I usually run 78 or with traffic anyway so I dont usually automaticly hit the brakes if I get a hit.

Hope your stay is nice in Big-D....watch out for Troopers on all the Interstates now that the weather has warmed up. Instant on Ka Stalkers is their forte...

The love to sit on the other side of hills not in the median, but 20-30 feet off the road on the shoulder on your right.

I'd leave X off when you get to Texas, I might leave it on while you are in LA and possibly MS.....you never know when you get down there in the boonies.

Hah! You called it. We saw some X mode right after we got off of I10 to head north towards Jackson Ms. About 5 miles north of I10 we wer epassing a strip mall. We got an hit on X band but it kept getting stonger. Sure enough here comes a caprice with blacked out windows and lotsa antennas. He was running X mode. Disnt see too much after that till we got to Dallas and then plenty of KA band in Dalllas Ft Worth. We were up near the speedwa when the Nascar race ended and they had mulitiple spped traps for that traffic.
The RX 65 has worked well. No surprises and few false alarms.
Will be heading to Houston tomorrow and then back to Tally on Friday Morning. Saw the most LEO in Florida. Enteresting enough, the areas with the largest presence of enforcement. (Florida Interstate) was also the area where the trafiic drove the fastest. On I0 would get passed at 84 MPH regularly but after heading North never got passed at 79 till I hit Dallas.
