That highly depends on terrain... and how good your set-up is (installed) overall.
If your radio is stock (~3 Watts is common from the factory)...
Under most 'normal' conditions:
TX- (5-6miles I would say... as the crow flies... aka:straight line, maybe 8 or so on a good day).
RX- (HIGHLY depends on what other users [truckers] have): ~10Miles. Some with monster rigs... you might hear 15,20,25+miles away.
If your radio is peaked and tuned... I would bump TX up to ~8Miles, maybe 10/12 on a good day/terrain.
You just never know.... it depends on so many factors that it is hard to just say 'Guaranteed 10 miles'.
I have gone solidly over 15miles (with some power on the other end) with my 510 (peaked and tuned to ~20watts) and my 1K (with extended whip.)
Remember that may not all sound like too much, but that is 'as the crow flies' in other words: straight line. So that 5-6miles could very well be 8-10 miles ahead of you on the road.
