Alright, New system. I need help!

Alright, So for months now. I have been installing C.B's into my home system, Since I am a stationary C.B user(on the East Coast). Thing is, I have never put on in a car, I seem to usually just use a 12 V DC Adapter with all my C.B's, and my car sure dosnt have a wall socket in it. Lol, Can someone help me out? What should I do to install this? I ned all the steps, Beside the basic stuff like SWR Tuning, Bracket mounting, Thats all easy. Can I just use a car cigarette outlet? or should I physically run the red to one of the battery terminals or fuse outlets?

Both would suffice, but I would recommend physically running the red wire to the battery terminal.

What I'm running in my car:

STI hardwired up by the visor
Garmin GPS
XM sat radio
Sony Camcorder
Handheld Midland CB Radio

and more others during long road trips

What you need is a multi power outlet that comes outta the cigarette lighter and in one of the outlets you will use this item, in Canada looks like this but maybe in US stores is got different name or whatever:

My camcorder is plugged into this stuff and all working juicy!

Cigarette lighter use often comes fraught with problems. Low voltage = low performance. Noise is often induced by the cig lighter circuit too. It's just too easy to run a hot wire to the battery or accessory post to not do so.

Would it be a good idea to use the cig lighter if I was moving my CB Around, like from car to car? I know moving it around isnt good anyways, but just for a temp. power source?

I wouldn't go as far as to call it a "good idea", but yes, it will work. Just be aware that, if you get unwanted noise with that kind of set-up, there is little you can do about it. A better approach would be to simply put a hardwire in each of your vehicles and a quick disconnect.

Blake, what about your ground? Did you do a second radio ground? Quick disconnect for ground(s) as well?

Yep runnin two grounds and my radio has a built in "ANL" filter that i leave on.With my second ground,i ran one end to bare metal framing under the dash,and the other end i crimped a spaded connector on to it,and it goes right under one of the bracket knobs.Just loosen the bracket knob and it comes right off when i take the radio out.
