There seems to be plenty of trucker talk in Canada. Unfortunately for me, more than half were talking French on my last trip through Ontario. I guess I'll know I'm over the edge if I try learning a new language to avoid speed traps ;)

Quebec (French-speaking Canadians) are the spoiled kids of this country  I've been driving ALL 400-series freeways in this province for a long time, always signs just in English UNTIL Ontario Liberals won the provincial elections in 2004, they decided to add French signs besides the old English ones to show INCLUSION    But Ontario, with all its cities and towns (except Ottawa, city in Ontario but nation's capital as well), IS NOT a bilingual province, English is the ONLY official language in this province (as French is for Quebec, only NB is officially bilingual, French and English)... back to your point, there are lots of trucks with Quebec plates on 401 (Toronto area), reason for that, as you obviously know, 401 is the major connection between Quebec and US Midwest (and further West) via Detroit, of course closer you get to Quebec border more chances to hear mostly French on your CB... I don't speak French either (a must just in Quebec, for jobs I mean), but I cannot wait to get familiar with the trucker's REAL-LIFE lingo (I know those sites with 10-4, 10-9, 10-20, etc., terminology) but sometimes in real-life things are a bit different, first listen what they have to say and ONLY after that get into that particular discution... regardless, it's a different world out there :wink:Quote:

Thank you very much Rob, Happya$$ and all other old sharks, experts in this pretty fascinating CB world
