Thank you happya$$... now it really makes a lot of sense to get one and use it anytime you need it... in my mind was a huge long antenna, something like "take it or leave it", but this little one with so much performance IT MUST BE PART OF ANYBODY'S ARSENAL (to use your own words)... I wouldn't mind even a telescopic antenna so you put the mag antenna on in the morning, you leave it on very low when you're in area with no trucks (downtown for instance) but when you know you will hit the freeway just roll it up... so that little Midland CB radio and a Wilson5000 mag antenna, a super-efficient (and pretty sexy I might say) combination 8) 8) 8)

Nah the buying the Little Wilson is like buying the BEL V995 instead of the V1

Also remember that in a close 3rd is the Wilson 500, which i use and love

I can deal with that. The belv995 isnt too bad of a radar detector. I'm not really looking for the best performance (just because of my vehicle) I need a low antenna, a huge whip would look pretty stupid on my small little car. So I think the little wil will be perfect for me and my car.

yes!the little wil will work for u very fine its ok antenna for being small :wink: but if you want twice the range than get the wilson 1000 but i guess that is of the list :) anyway dont for get to tune your little wil when you set it up sometimes it can be a pain in the butt with them little wil antennas get a good swr meter and set them puppies to 1.1 to 1.5 max
cause if your swr readings are to high you wont get the best range and you might burn up your radio :P good luck let us know how it goes peace!

So the 62" stainless steel whip is always INSIDE the antenna body, you just have to work with your CB radio (Low/High on ch 1, 20 and 40) in order to TUNE your antenna up and find its best height (that varies from car to car, small cars, vans, jeeps, etc.) :wink:

no the whip can be removed from the base but with the top 3 wilson antenna's you hardly need to tune them...

What I meant was that the 62" whip IS part of the whole Wilson 500/1000/5000 antenna system and NOT a unit sold separately... I think it's a telescopic antenna, isn't it :?:
So the Wilson 5000 (same for 500 and 1000) no need to be tuned up when you buy it :?:

These days (today if those people at DurhamRadio are open, day-off in Canada) I will go for a Midland 75-822 CB Radio and a Wilson 5000 MagnetMount, done a lot of research in order to smartly buy the right product for my current (and future) needs... so far the scanner issue is for a later time, maybe in the summer when I'll be in the States and buy it from there :wink:

no the 62" whip comes with the purchase of wilson 1000/5000. The 500 comes with a 54"....it's not telescopic

Tuning doesn't really matter with these top antenna's
