    SSL Encryption

I am pleased to report that RDnet has finally gone SSL.

    It's been long overdue.

If any of you have any issues appearing as a result of the change please let me know and we will see to it...

  3. Re: Recent collection of police laser encounters with and without Veil

    LOL.

Wouldn't that be nice. Manufacturers likely wouldn't apply something specifically designed to beat police laser.

I've actually tried some make shift paint myself and found another...

Re: Money spent annually on radar detectors?

My guess worldwide is about 80 million. I think the industry was quite a bit bigger in the 80s-90s so not what it was.

Now compared to money spent on citations??? :)

Hate to say this, but I would disable lockouts at these locations. Perhaps marking them as speedtrap location would also help where applicable.

    Re: R7 first impressions

Things I really like about the R7:

    1) Range, of course
    2) Huge OLED screen
    3) MultaRadar/RedFlex detection
    4) Audio
    5) Amount of info displayed

    Things that could be improved:

    Re: RADENSO vs VALENTINE

K-band and Ka band are very good on the Radenso and I'd give the edge to off-axis sensitivity to the Pro SE.

X-band sensitivity on the SE is noticeably lower on the SE. The V1s sensitivity is...

Escort Max 360c vs X-band and 33.8 Ka band

I think a good showing for the Escort Max 360c given the sheer amount of RF cr&p that was all around at the time.

Re: The future of Valentine One? Dismal.

The V1 has been nearly a "religion" with me. I continue to rely on it when I especially concerned with laser. That being said, the R3 is such an incredible unit in its own right in terms of both...

  22. Re: Just picked up the ESCORT PASSPORT 8500 X50 BLACK!

The 8500 X50 is a much older detector with less capabilities than the new ones.

The V1 with BT is a great unit.

But the Uniden R1 and Uniden R3 are awesome.

    Much better filtering of K-band...
