Kensteele, try muting rear antenna first for K band to equalize X50 or 9500i. See how it works for you. If not satisified, mute k band for 30 sec. with 4 led threshold. I found this set up better and even like it better tan my X50. I've been using my V1 since then in small L. I did not find it neccessary to use big L. I agree that the 9500i is quieter though.

so far mine is 100% accurate and never falses on ka.... k -auto mute works wonders!!

1) When the delay is set to 30 seconds, does that mean the unit will not even respond for 30 seconds or does that mean the unit will respond AND mute itself for 30 seconds?
2) When the delay is set to 30 seconds, does this timer start over everytime the signal goes away? What I am getting at is how can you detect instant on radar this way?
3)Even though I have made the above setting changes, I still get false K-band alerts with 1 or 2 bars, I was hoping to be able to ignore K-band at 5 and under lights.

3) Yes, I mean ignore and not light up at all. Despite all these settings, I'm still running around with a V1 which goes from completely dark and idle to 1 light K-band and audible right away. At first I was thinking it was dark and idle for those 30 seconds but I guess that's not true. I would LOVE to have the V1 light up and come on with less than 6 lights and stay MUTED for awhile.
ya thats what mine does... mine is 3.861 though... maybe it was different back then?!?!
You prolly have the V1 on advance logic mode(Big L). With this option, you will not receive K band alerts until the 30sec timer is up or if the strength goes past 4 LEDs. If you had it in only logic mode(little L), then you will see all the K alerts, but you won't hear them. I assume ooj3k has it on logic mode. In logic mode, the alerts will become audible once the timer is up or if gets 4 LEDs. Hope this helps...Quote:
