Time for an upgrade? Currently v1.7 software 2.879

Thinking about it and getting an 8-9dB improvement in Ka, which is almost a tripling in sensitivity, I'll be going for a upgrade at the end of the summer.

This was the first radar detector I ever bought and bought it close to 9 years ago.

Sending it back in just doesn't feel right, but I only have the one vehicle.

Well I have to the end of the summer to decide what to do.

The upgrade is worth it but you NEED to AT LEAST get it tuned up. I have to stress that a tune up is 100% necessary because your V1 is 9 years old and hasn't been serviced. When you get it back you'll be amazed at how sensitive it is.

I agree with you and will call up Valentine on Monday and ask for details on sending it in for a tune up.

Of course then I'll have to go through living without it for a week and waiting for the mailman.

You don't even need to call them up, just send it in with a note. If you do call though, ask to speak to Mike the Tech. He knows what he's doing and can give you the information you need and can answer all of your questions.
