Should I consider the expensive upgrade to a new unit, or a repair/tune up?
Run the serial number on https://store.valentine1.com/upgrades/. I'm sure after you'll read it you'll want to upgrade.
I picked up a used 2nd unit:
Serial 0323
Version 1.36
Old large case.
I'll be upgrading to a new one I think.
I have a 1.36 serial #342.
Originally purchased in March, '94. Still works & it's in a non highway use vehicle.
Great on K & X, just so so on Ka & poor on laser, which is front only.
An upgrade to the latest 3.872 will cost you $279. It's probably worth doing. I'm just keeping the one I have to see how long it'll last. Over 15 years is pretty amazing IMHO.![]()
