V1 Antenna Question

That is my idea... But how to properly mount that, if I just welded to the roof it would be unaerodynamic...

Inside? Has the bonus of allowing you into carpool lanes...

I'm still trying to envision how you would suddenly pull the dish apart and stick it under your seat when the cop pulls you over. Or better yet, stick it in your pocket when the cop wants to search your car. :lol:

Well that's the thing. The cop won't know it's a RD. If he asks, just tell him it's a new high performance mobile satellite receiver dish. Or just leave the "DirecTV" logo on it. DirecTV doesn't make RDs so to the cop it isn't illegal, is it? ;)

thanks Horn, just test yesterday the V1 against radar fix cabin, working in great way.... now need more practice ....

I have read carefully all the comments and thanks for that, indeed the idea was to connect a kind of antenna to the V1 like radio FM antenna sticked on the glass but 98 Mhz is not 10 Ghz or 24 Ghz that is sure.

Would have been good to have such one as we could place the V1 Antenna and the V1 RD anywhere it is convieniante for each user

That would make for an interesting ticket... illegal DirecTV dish housing an illegal radar detector, and having a sat. dish on the car is probably illegal too. I guess being an American is not so bad after all. ;)

Well I was looking to the internal V1 (thanks BiGeAsYgUy for this).
My question is then simple (always keeping in mind the way to have the RD more discret as possible):
is there any possibility to move/remove the horn from the V1 (on photo it seems that it is possible) and connect it from any where in the car thanks to cable to the main unit thenfore without is front horn

No, it cannot be done because the circuit is on the board and the cast horn only covers the circuit. The best way to do what you want is to mount the whole unit remotely and then use the remote display.
