Default Why doesn't Laser Range Finder set off V1?

I was testing my Blinder 45 laser jammer and shot my laser range finder (Nikon Prostaff Laser 440-used for hunting) at my V1 (recent software) and it didn't it set off. There's a few older threads out there wherein the writers are just speculating as to why. Any factual knowledge out there? I'm going to call Valentine to get some feedback.

Not the correct wavelength or pulse rate?

maybe because the range finder uses a 870nm wavelength and police guns use 904nm. Also the pulse rate for the range finder is 14ns and 2.7W power output. I bet the v1 got it and determined it was not a threat. link to manual for the optics http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/sportopt...structions.pdf

As said it's out of the bandwidth for police laser, the v1 does pick up 820 - 950 nanometers.

But it's not just the frequency but the pulse rate aswell, the less things which let the v1 off the better, a tv or hifi or dvd remote will set the laser off good for testing.

But out on the road we only need to be informed of police laser, neons and laser cruise control just adds to the falses and after repeated falses on a long trip can become annoying and you start to ignore the laser warning.

A couple of laser falses everynow and then keeps you alert, esspecialy if you know where it falses laser, but any more and it becomes annoying because laser require immediate driver action if over the limit, where as radar gives you more time and doesnt make you jump a mile.

I had my v1 in the other night, mainly for laser detection as the radars broke, and it falsed on a traffic master sensor i forgot it falsed their and i jumped a mile when it went off

Thanks to all for your great on-point responses! I'm curious as to what Valentine's response will be. I'll post what they say - I'm sure that it will be in line with what you all have indicated.
