I think you have to "get in line" for a refurb one.
I would also get the concealed display, a carry case and make a kill switch for it.

What are the prices for refurbs?
If you can shut down X, it's alot quieter. I only engage X when I leave Michigan for Indiana or Ohio. With X off, I'm in "A" mode all the time. When X is on, I use "l" in the city. My tolerance for falses is low and my wife is not in my car very often. You'll probably either love it or hate it. If you hate it, do everyone a favor and don't run around slamming it simply because it does not fit your tastes, like a few individuals that troll the V1 forum.:mad:Quote:

I was about 99% positive something was wrong at that point (the 1% was perhaps a setting that was incorrect - there was no way a V1 was going to FALSE LESS than my Escort 9500i).....but after checking settings again, and then several other known powerful falses, I unplugged it, wrapped her up, and popped the 9500i back up behind the rear view and confidently drove back home.
like I said, I'm like a little kid. no patience, and since I wanted it to use for the long 4 day weekend, I had to pay like $38 to get it overnight. If it wasnt overnighted for tomorrow, I wouldnt have it till Fri or Monday.Quote:

I searched Craigslist and found a V1.7.........the guy was asking $250.
I ran the serial, upgrade is $189 and you do get a brand new unit according to V1.
I got him down to $200, we shall see if the deal goes through.
Luckily he's local, so I plan on showing up and plugging his unit and making sure it works.
$200 + $189 = $389. That basically saves you $10, then you still have to pay to ship it to VR. Why not just buy a new one?Quote:

so pissed! FedEx told me this AM that they wouldnt try to deliver the (sig required) V1 until AFTER noon, so I went to work with that in mind. Then I checked the tracking and saw that at 9:50AM they tried to deliver it, and left because I wasnt there. Now I'm waiting (for an hour so far) for them to contact the driver so I can meet him to get it before the holiday. Closest FedEx place (where theyd have me pick it up) is an hour away. :mad:
