My real world experiences with the Pro78 rev C are that it consistently provides very good alert times as long as the radar gun is pointed more or less in the direction of your car. This is because, even though the Pro78 is a bit weak in raw sensitivity, it also features Mike B's newly patented technology which allows it to double-check any faint whiff of radar just a few milliseconds later to see if it is still there. The Pro78 doesn't have really good real world performance against forward-facing radar, simply because its raw Ka band sensitivities don't allow it to begin "seeing" a forward-facing radar gun until you get closer to the forward-facing radar gun. Yet on the road when any distant radar gun is pointed in the general direction of your car then the Pro78 will see it.
As I have commented before, the Pro78 rev C (and now the new XTR-695) is the only other radar detector aside from a Bel, Escort, or V1 which I trust to provide me with really good protection while on the road.
I have serious doubts about how these Whistlers(or any other midlevel RD for that matter) would perform against the Stalker II that I see in my local area. I'm curious to hear your opinion?

The Stalker II is a 34.7Ka radar gun with average output power and a conventional circularly polarized radar horn. It should be easily detected at all times by the Pro78/XTR-690/XTR-695 as long as the gun isn't forward-facing. The older and bulkier Stalker ATR radar guns are harder to detect in my opinion since the ATR used a very narrow and long polarized antenna with a nominal spread of only an 8 degree cone versus the Stalker II's 12 degree cone.

X2...There is only one way to find out DJ is to Buy a Whistler ! Have you ever had driving time with one in the real world and not at test sites and based on lab numbers? I'm positive all your missed I/0 shots from Ka 34.7 and the Stalker II is Where the Whistler would shine in your GT :D

I can see the 9500CI missing them but now way in hell the V1 would miss them considering the V1 HAS the FASTEST response in the industry. THe Pro 78/695/690 are good BUDGET RD's

Whistler would be #2 in fastest response? I believe Michael B's patent is the secret to detecting very weak and come and go distant I/0 radar vs. High sensitivity Rd's. Did u see my Whistler response video?
