Amen to that!!! My latest trip from GA to upstate NY,then to NJ,then back down to GA was an interesting one thanks to my V1/CB combo.I don't know how i could've made it with just the radio. The countermeasures bring more adventure to rather boring countless hours of driving. You can see how drivers if they see your rd tend to stick with you and adapt their driving to mimic yours. When i rode the left lane they did. When i hopped real quick back into the right lane, they did also..It was hilarious..

i realized that even with my laser jammer, and V1.. i'll never be able to "truly" speed. EVEN with rabbits.
I got $400 for just a 7 month old V1 on eBay. It has excellent resale value. eBay is nice because people get into idiotic bidding wars where they end up going over the max amount they intended to spend just so they can "win."
Just got my 3-4 week old 3.872 on eBay for $335. Definitely a steal!

    Big x2 to that!

If I see someone flying up behind me when I get an alert I'll move right and slow well below PSL if I have to so that there is no mistake who the speeder is. I put as much distance as possible between me and ANY other car that's speeding. It's actually a lot of fun when that happens.

To the OP, I cannot endorse the racing, but you don’t need to speed not to need an RD, I still would vote to keep an RD for other reasons.

I remember reading, quite a few years ago, C&D quoted a Fraternal Order of Police article that stated 30% of all radar tickets issued were to the wrong person. Yes, it was a decade or two ago, but the beam is still invisible, the LEO still has to make a determination and he / she is human and can make mistakes. The only real difference from then and now is the old single strongest signal return readout vs. Target Speed plus Fastest Speed readouts and same lane tracking, oh and they definitely had I/O back then. The NCHP uses primarily VASCAR on the I-85 ramps in my area. As they have said on TV here, they can’t tell who is doing what with their radar guns based on traffic volume and opt to switch to the VASCAR mode to make an exact determination, I give them credit for that. Although they have recently started using laser to pin point offenders.

Possibly make the switch to an installed / concealed unit such as the 9500ci (quieter from what I’ve read) or a concealed V1 in a rear head rest, yes losing the laser feature and possibly some sensitivity. As I found on a recent trip through a small town preceding my destination of Birmingham, AL. The PSL went from 45 to 25 and a tree was partially covering the 25 sign and absolutely the local was using I/O on the other side of the sign. I was doing 40 in the 45 well in advance of this town and 20 in the 25 because my friend had forewarned me of these LEO’s tactics in these particular towns. From the north end of town to the southern city limits, doing 20 mph in the 25 I had this LEO on my bumper where I could not see his headlights or low profile light bar, real nice, REAL intimidation, the only reason was my NC tag. Glad I had my V1, hidden in headliner w/CD in the instrument cluster, and very soon to have a front/ rear video the Leo won’t know about because of this very action. Now I’m an old geezer, in a Camry (!), not looking to have any problems with anybody, I keep a low profile and if over the PSL not by much. I feel IME there are just too many situations as noted above where you are not doing anything wrong, but you’re the target and the RD is an essential tool, of many, to protect you from these occurrences. Some folks are lucky and don’t have them and some aren’t.

Glad you got a good price for the V1 and I wish you well.

    BC
