Upgrade question

Hey,
So I have a 1.7 version according to V1's website.
I don't know how I can find out what my firmware is.

Should I upgrade to the newer units?
Or keep this one.

The early 1.8 V1s were probably the best V1s ever made.

To check your exact firmware, turn on your V1 while pushing in the volume knob at the same time. Hold the knob until the detector lights up. You are in programming mode. Then push the knob (don't hold) and the exact firmware will flash across the display,

I would say its pretty old. Does VR say anything about upgrading Ka capabilities? I know they are going to say upgrade to one with POP.
