I need full protection on every band including X around here, so overall performance matters to me the most.
Imagine a $400 V1 stands with if not beats a $1600 detector on many bands.
I agree it "barely" beat the Ka Guard off V1 which said.
Now if you remove the silly Ka Guard off unit.
Likewise:
A Normally Configured V1 "barely beat" 9500CI & STI on 33.8 Ka
A Normally Configured V1 "barely beat" 9500CI & STI on 34.7 Ka
A Normally Configured V1 beaten badly by almost every detector including the Cobra on 35.5 Ka
I guess the only way to get "full coverage" with the V1 is to have Ka Guard off.
With it on it wins some (barely) and looses a critical frequency quite badly.
I'd rather have good coverage on 35.5 Ka C/O and I/O than Q/T across the spectrum.
The detector that "wins" on that test to me is clearly the 9500ci.
90% of my Ka alerts are 35.5 Ka C/O and I/O
A detector that can't do 35.5 Ka really well stands with Cobra's & Whistlers. Just like the 35.5 Ka GOL Chart shows.
I guess V1 owners had to come up with Q/T and Ka Guard off to make V1 look good. But in reality it's really slightly above average. Now if it could do better on 35.5 Ka then I might agree.
If a RD does great on 20% of the threats and terrible on 80% of the threats then that's not so good.
I'm actually quite baffled why VR has not beefed up 35.5 Ka.
