I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there was an article in one of the car magazines (either Car and Driver or Autoweek) telling how the automakers are hard at work making K band collision avoidance systems MUCH more affordable, so eventually they will be in ALL new cars. The 77 GHZ systems are too expensive for mass production.

Can't imagine why one frequency would be so much cheaper than another, but why not some frequency other than X, K, or Ka? Surely there's something available in the spectrum that is affordable to manufacture sensors for.
But then, shouldn't people be watching the road anyway? Collision avoidance... yeah, more like collision warning!
This infuriates me--especially when you consider that the trailblazers (haha) in this technological development and implementation have generally been manufacturers that like to think of themselves as making drivers' cars.Quote:

I kept getting a strong K signal in front of me for 2 miles. I turned my V1 off and on to see if that would fix it, which it did not. Then I rememberd this thread. As soon as I passed the Audi, signal disappeared. I noticed he then used me as a rabbit.
I have a V1 and I also have a 2009 Audi S5 and a feature the car has is Audi Lane Assist. I kept getting false alerts in the K Band and finally just turned off the K Band altogether. I've had my V1 for around 11 years and I don't have the POP feature. I may be wrong but I remember speaking with V1 about this and she said that turning off the POP feature is also turning off the K Band and like I said I could be wrong. I wish they would/could update it to fix this annoyance.
Does anyone have any other ideas?

Audi ACC no problem around 70GHz
Mercedes 24.200 +-20MHz
nomatter what you set it up, you get this alerts as long as your RD (any brand) detects 24.150 +-100MHz :-(

Is it just me or does anybody else feel like all these automakers should focus on telling the fuking retards who buy their cars to learn how to drive? Collision avoidance, lane departure, blind spot warning, active cruise control? WTF is wrong with the USA? Seriously, we have an entire generation of morons out there who can barely tell the gas from the brake. The more crap we put in cars that prevent them from doing the basic things they need to do - i.e. drive the g d car and pay attention, the more they crash into innocent drivers. Now we have to deal with random K band and laser falses because they can't be bothered to check their mirrors or notice the light has turned red? I only hope they plow into a tree and stop dumbing down the gene pool.
