    Default laser alert??

Hey guys.. I was targetted with a handheld in the city yesterday (australia) but my v1 didn't go off. I've got it mounted near rear vision mirror (vertically), but i did have the x and k bands turned off. Does the laser have to be pointed directly at the windscreen to get an alert as there were NO alert at all. Cheers in advance

No, Not at all..The V1 laser receptor is very sensitive one of the best there is out there, The laser on my v1 picks laser "scatter" from other cars 1/2 mile in front of me all the way untill I pass the leo shooting then BAMM! HE LOCKS ON ME and laser is louddddd and on for about 5 to 10 seconds..It should be picking up even the little "scatter" from other vehicles in front of you ..maybe he wasn't aiming at you?....I have never mounted verticaly.

Your V1 missed a laser shot and that's totally normal. I can shoot my car all day under 800ft and never make my V1 alert. Even the V1's incredible laser sensitivity misses laser shots all the time, because the laser never makes it to the sensor. My V1 never alerted to laser on this encounter.

The closer he is the smaller the beam. Good cause for a close encounter miss.

O wow then Ive been lucky!! Ive picked up alot of laser scatter then passed the leo little ways downthe road and got a full on laser alert but being closer does make the laser beam pinpoint so he aims for your license plate..It never hits your V1 understood...Thats why I ordered m27's=) that and veil is only way to defend your self from laser my friend.
