Default Well it's got a rattle in it!

I haven't gotten much of anything as far as hits on this things since I bought it from Fleabay the other day. I just notice that if I shake it there is a rattle in it. I opened it up and saw nothing the rattle is comeing from inside the metal body inside! Any ideas? I didn't try and go any father with opening it.

There should be no rattle. I suggest you send the V1 in for a tune up. It'll cost you $45. How much did you pay for it? Also, try driving around in the city with it.

I don't mean to sound negative but this is why we advocate on this forum to buy new from the manufacturer (exception: refurb 8500) because you never know what you'll get when you buy used.

I guess I'll send it in. for a tune up. I ordered a wireing kit and windshield mount today and to my surprise they emailed me and asked for my serial number is that normal?

They want to make sure it isn't stolen probably. Type the serial number in on their website and see if it is or not.

Ok. If it came out as not stolen, I'd call VR and have them register the V1 under your name. You are the new owner. Also do this:

And let us know what numbers appear.

It might be possible that a capacitor or something like that became loose, maybe the previous dropped it

IIRC the website won't tell you if it's stolen ... you have to make a phone call.
