Question? What was MV's handle on this forum years ago? Any of his threads available to read?

Dismal (I think not) Well we can all try to read the Crystal Ball and see whats coming. I have run a V-1 for so many years that I have lost count. I have other RD that I run once in a while. Beltronix STI, Escort 8500. I run the STI around town because it is easy to turn off X in the city and gets fewer false alarms. Any time i get an alert, I look for the arrows. I recently made a quick trip from NE Ohio to San Antonio Tx. I had 4 solid V-1 Saves in 2 days. The one that proved the value of the Arrows was in S Illinois. Had at least 9 bogey's going at one time, mostly K band speed drone signs. But one displayed on my V1C was a 35.XXX ghz signal from the rear. Over a 5 - 7 minute time frame it gets stronger. I slowed down and here came a White Ford Expedition with lettering on the side "STATE POLICE" Another V-1 save. 1480 Miles, Most active enforcement states, Ohio (X Band), Illinois, Arkansas, and of course Texas. (Almost solid Ka Stalker alert from Dallas to Austin) NO LASER DETECTED OR SEEN on ENTIRE TRIP)
Wish List for new V-1:
Color Display
LIDAR Gun ID Display output on V-1 Connect
Waterproof Mounting Box
Remote Control Box allowing 2 V-1's to be mounted (IE 1 in front, 1 in Rear)
Additional detection of FM Radar used by photo vans.

Until I see how the Max 360 pans out I'm happy with the V1. It has better range than the Max/Max2, false far less, doesn't mystery false, is much smaller and lighter and has a small window mount footprint (the Max's huge mount lets every thief and cop know you're running a radar detector). The 360 is humongous - bigger than the already too big Max. But, it may pan out and finally live up to Escort's hype when they originally came out with the Max. I tried four of them and different time and was not impressed. My gut tells me Escort won't get this one right either; if they can't get one antenna sorted out how are they going to get two to play nice together. If my gut is right then Valentine has nothing to worry about as Escort will continue to make them sales. I can't tell you how many people I know who have been burned on Escort products and ended up getting a V1. It ain't the purdiest and it ain't the most modern looking, but it simply does what it's supposed to do.
I am satisfied with my V1.
The black box says it all. To those who think it has a 1980s look (how did you figure that out?) and looks outdated, what do you suggest? Certainly not plastic, scanning dots to amuse your friends- did you finally figure out that the dots are useless? Control on top of the detector so when mounted are invisible? The arrows tell it all. Who wants to listen to bird noises and not know where the radar is coming from? Blame it on the gaming industry where dazzling lights baby sit you. I vote for radar detection, good electronics and a company that proven over and over a high degree of reliability.
