Then you're not driving where we all are because clearly the V 1C is indeed suffering from K falsitis. At this time, you can't even use TMF to quiet the mobile falses, it's just not that effective.

Even Denver has its share of K band falses.
I have a new V1, it's totally USELESS.
Every 18 wheeler truck sets it off. I can be in the middle of farm fields, pass a truck, and it beeps for no reason. I can't believe they sell it like this. All it does is beep for totally no reason. I'm ready to throw it out the window. I thought it was X-band, but from reading this forum, it says K band is too sensitive ??
Where as my 15 yo V1 was great.
I spent so much money on this new one, it's ridiculous !!!
Gentlemen and Ladies, I stand corrected. I'm back to loving my V-1. I sent my unit in for a software update to 3.8945 (I think that's correct). Today I drove to and from work and no false K-band alerts from lane change, safety K-band systems from new cars. I knew Mike would figure it out. I did notice a slight reduction in K-band sensitivity, though I'll need more time to confirm this. Never-the-less, I am thrilled.
$79.00 plus $14.00 for return shipping = Total $93.00. Well worth it.
I too thought mine was useless and was ready to give in to the fact that radar detectors were a thing of the past until I got mine back from the latest upgrade and have been using it for 3 weeks now.
I still don't understand why anyone would want to use a radar detector that does not tell you the direction(s) the signal(s) are coming from :)
Your right. The arrows rule. I've thought of trying another detector, but you can't give up the arrows. You are giving up too much information.
How old is your V1? I upgraded mine in Dec and it has TMF2. This is not turned on by default, you must go into programming options to turn on. Works great, I get very few falses now from side lane radar now. Before that, it was not useable due to non-stop K band alerts on the highway.
My V1 is about three and a half years old. I upgraded it in April. I purchase my first V1 in 1997. Prior to that I was running ESCORT which I first purchased in 1979 from Cincinnati Microwave.
