There is a difference between pleasent and safe.

Just because cruising at 75MPH is much more pleasent then a 10MPH Construction zone or a 25MPH school zone, on my bike... doesnt mean I am going to go that fast through them, just because it is simply pleasent.

Again you have low-performance cars (but I repeat myself) that should not be driven at those speeds on the public roads, plain and simple... especially those speeds at night.

As I said your V1 and scanner work, but proclaiming such a story (of going 120MPH and the V1 came to the rescue) doesnt help the image of our website... and how people will look at us (As I said this story is the perfect example of why LEO's on some forums badmouth us.).

I wouldn't call them low performance. But I definitely wouldn't call them the "ultimate driving machine". Probably something more along this lines of above average performance.

Radardetectors are meant for those that want to be warned of an LEO, becauase they may not be paying attention and wind up speeding. Also for those that go 5-15mph over the limit. When you start going 90+ mph on public road in the U.S. your just asking for a ticket. Traveling that fast is going to make you ahead of the pack and be the main target for instant on, because your the one thats going to be out front while the rest of your radar cover is behind you. Not to mention you want always be able to slow down quick enough if another vehicle pulls out in front of you going 120mph.

Ehhh maybe your right, I have been around High performance machines for so long, cars like that just seem very low-performance to me... They are probably right around the stats of mid-line performance cars... like I said very near the (stock) 4-Asian supercars(those 15year old designs/technology), except with a heftier price tag... the point still stands though.

3kGT are way to heavy and slow the handling on them sucks as...Sport Compact Car ran a the Ultimat sport compact car test 2 heavily modified ones and they both sucked butt and were the slowest the power to weight ratio on those suck

Or if you've been around large SUVs alot you think thats high performance. Any large SUV able to do 0-60 in the 6 second range is considered very fast.

Obviously you didnt see the 15K worth of mods, and you probably havent rode in many with those kinds of mods... and the weight was meant to keep it comparable to the cars mentioned... which are all also extremely heavy just like the 3Kgt VR-4.
They were heavy (again 15K worth of mods solves this), but they were also just as luxurious as most of the mentioned cars.

I mean they would (stock) probably outhandle your upgraded Volvo (at lets say 140), AWD, 4WD, Active Aero made their 'high speed' handeling simply planted to the ground (actually, non-stock tires)... so they were no means agile, but at 120+ they were planted to the ground, so I think you misunderstood high speed handeling for something else, and, I mean being able to transfer 95% of their power to which-ever axel was the best for the job helps in a 'high-speed' slide. At 55-100 though... blahhh.


CVR if you really want, apply what I just said (instead of a 3kGT VR-4) to a Mazda RX-7 RS/RZ/R1/R2...the handeling on those cars was something out of this world... they were extremely light. (But I was trying to stay away from such a light car... because it isnt a fair comparison at all to the ones mentioned.)

I am not disaggreeing with you... your 100% correct they are slow and heavy, and dont have the best handeling, just like the cars these guys are saying they have, except 3K's cost less (So you can mod them and still have money left over). AND they have AWD, 4WS, AA combined to work to their advantage at 'high-speeds'... but yet they still aren't good handeling cars, just the BMW's and Audi's said here (but the BMW and Audi's dont have the AA[f&r], AWD, 4WS)

And at high speeds 3K's have specific things designed into them to help with handeling (AWD,4WS,AA). So I thank you for (helping in) proving my point here actually... that these cars are heavy and slow, they are very comparable in weight and speed, and should not be driven that fast... plain and simple.

This is a Radar Detector forum. This is a RADAR DETECTOR FORUM

People speed and use radar detectors to notify them in time to avoid SPEEDING tickets. The image of the website? :lol: This is a website on what devices are the best at beating LEO speed detecting equipment!!!!!!

Why, when there is some sense being made, must this thread be locked? Brent, you're pretty dead set in your ways and I am confident you won't let anyone talk you out of your preconcieved notions, but for the sake of the forum, I'll say this.

This forum is not about going 120mph. This forum is not about speeding. This forum is about allowing people to go the speed that is reasonable and safe for given conditions on a given road. This speed may not be within the legal limits of the road, which is why we need the protection. Typically it is 5-15 mph over the posted limit. I hope nobody here honestly thinks doing double the speed limit is normal, safe, or commonplace. In fact, I think it is the vast vast minority.
